Ministerial Delegation Launches European Tour in Preparation for the Jordan–EU Investment Conference

Amman – A Jordanian ministerial delegation on Tuesday launched a European tour in preparation for the Jordan–European Union Investment Conference, scheduled to be held in Jordan next April under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II, and in the presence of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

The tour comes as part of government efforts to ensure the conference achieves its objectives of strengthening Jordan’s presence in European markets and translating the strategic partnership between Jordan and the European Union into viable investment projects that serve the developmental and economic goals of both sides.

The delegation includes Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Eng. Yarub Al-Qudah, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan, Minister of Investment Dr. Tariq Abu Ghazaleh, as well as Jordan’s Ambassador to Brussels, Yousef Bataineh.

Earlier today, the delegation held a high-level dialogue session at the headquarters of the European Commission in Brussels, where it met with EU Commissioner for the Mediterranean Dubravka Šuica, alongside European business associations, European financial institutions, and representatives of companies and the private sector.

The delegation also held a meeting at the headquarters of the Arab–Belgian–Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, attended by representatives of companies and the private sector in Belgium. During the meeting, ministers highlighted Jordan’s key competitive advantages, investment opportunities, and its attractive investment environment.

The delegation is scheduled to hold a series of additional meetings aimed at showcasing Jordan’s high-value investment opportunities and exploring prospects for enhanced investment cooperation between Jordan and the European Union.

The Jordan–EU Investment Conference is one of the outcomes of the Jordan–European Union Summit, held earlier this month between His Majesty King Abdullah II, President of the European Council António Costa, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

During the summit, His Majesty expressed Jordan’s aspiration to host the Jordan–EU Investment Conference next April, with the aim of strengthening economic and investment partnerships between the two sides.
