Amman– Minister of Investment, Dr. Tareq Abu Ghazaleh, affirmed that the government is moving forward with directing investments toward development projects that directly impact citizens’ lives, address their needs, create job opportunities, improve service delivery, and enhance overall quality of life—particularly in governorates and Badia regions that require sustainable development interventions.

His remarks came during a meeting held today at the Ministry with Senator Sultan Al-Jazi and Members of Parliament representing the Southern Badia—Saleh Abu Tayeh, Mohammad Al-Maraya, and Arwa Al-Zaboun Al-Hajaya—where discussions focused on the impact of investment projects on local development and the opportunities capable of driving tangible change in the lives of local communities.

Abu Ghazaleh emphasized that attracting high-quality investments goes beyond capital inflows; it involves building an integrated economic ecosystem that supports complementary crafts and professions, expands employment opportunities for youth, and contributes to strengthening families and promoting social and economic stability.

He noted that the school transportation project in the Southern Badia represents a practical model of this approach, as it provides safe and free transport for students, reduces financial burdens on families, and supports the education sector. The project also generates direct and indirect employment opportunities while stimulating the transport, maintenance, and services sectors.

The Minister added that this initiative is part of a broader pipeline of development-oriented investment projects targeting governorates, aimed at improving living standards, upgrading infrastructure, and enhancing service quality, in line with the Economic Modernization Vision and the government’s priorities.

During the meeting, the Minister also listened to proposals from Southern Badia representatives on viable and implementable investment opportunities in the region. They stressed the importance of leveraging the area’s comparative advantages and transforming them into productive projects that deliver tangible benefits to local communities, improve living conditions, and contribute to the national economy.

Participants underscored the importance of strengthening collaboration between the executive and legislative branches to ensure better service delivery and achieve balanced and inclusive development across the Southern Badia and all regions of the Kingdom.

At the conclusion of the meeting, which was attended by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Investment, Zaher Al-Qatarnah, participants highlighted the importance of sustained coordination and communication to address challenges, maximize investment opportunities, and ensure their optimal utilization in support of local development and national interests.
