IT Infrastructure Jordan’s ICT infrastructure provides a robust backbone for the sector. High-speed internet access is widely available, and the country’s internet penetration rate stood at 88.2% as of 2021. The government has been proactive in strengthening its IT infrastructure, launching initiatives like Digital Jordan 2025, which is focused on upgrading the country’s telecommunications networks and expanding broadband coverage.

Business Process Outsourcing Over the last few years, Jordan has affirmed its claim of being an undiscovered gem for business process outsourcing (BPO)—and, now, global industry leaders have taken note. The country’s BPO industry doubled its revenues in the last 2 years, reaching more than USD110 million. In the same period, Jordan’s BPO industry created more than 10,000 new jobs, with plans to double that figure within the next two years. The key strength of the country’s BPO industry rests in its highly skilled, multilingual workforce, with over 80% of the population demonstrating proficiency in English.

- Employment and Salary Subsidies: For digital or digitally enabled businesses, employment subsidies will cover up to 50% of new employee salaries for the first six months of their employment.
- Market Expansion Grants: For digital or digitally enabled businesses looking to expand their operations in Jordan, grants are available to cover up to 50% of the cost of their business development plans.
- Upskilling Grants: To enhance the knowledge, skills, and capacities of the local workforce and increase the cadre of digitally enabled youth, businesses have access to upskilling grants that will allow them to enhance the digital skills of their workforce, with training programs readily available from qualified service providers.
- Graduate Internship Program (GIP): Through the Graduate Internship Program, ICT graduates are connected to 12-month internship opportunities in private-sector companies. The Jordanian government supports these opportunities by subsidizing 50% of the trainees’ monthly salaries.

Jordan is home to a great deal of young, digitally savvy talent, with more than 70% of the population under the age of 34 and wide-reaching fluency in both Arabic and English. Twenty-two percent of local youth hold degrees in the fields of IT, computer science, and engineering.
